Writing Update
My favorite words to type!

A writing update!
This week, I typed THE END on my first draft of Luca and Charlotte’s love story! It’s always a bittersweet feeling to wrap up a first draft. And I know there’s still work ahead of me with editing and revising and beta reading and all the STUFF that comes with each new book, but I’m so excited.
I was talking to a friend this week about this book (don’t worry, there will be a title announcement soon!), and how I’ve been setting Luca and Charlotte up since Perfect Game. The process of writing their book is a little bit like filling in the messy middle bits of a puzzle. You’ve already done your corners and your borders and now you have a jumble of pieces that you have to figure out where they go. That was the process of writing book three. Figuring out where the pieces go in the middle.
Stay tuned for the title announcement, release date, and preorder information coming soon! For now, enjoy a picture that may or may not be related to the next book in the series…
Batting Cleanup
Mark your calendars for September 26th.
I have something fun coming your way. Something I’ve teased a tiny bit on my Instagram and eagle eyed followers have caught a few hints.
It takes place within the universe of the Unwritten Rules and Wild Pitches books, so there will be at least one familiar face. For now, I’ll leave you with this:

In The Dugout
What I’m watching: Modern Family is one of my favorite background shows when I’m writing. Until I get distracted and end up actually watching it and not writing!
Lions pre-season football. This year is going to be awesome, I can feel it.
What I’m listening to: Still Sierra Ferrell. On a loop. My classroom Motown playlist that last year’s kids loved during our Pass the Plate game and morning warm-ups. I’m also listening to the playlist for book three of the Unwritten Rules series.
What I’m reading: I finished Hot Earl Summer last night! I’d been looking forward to Elizabeth’s story since I started the Wynchester series just a few weeks ago, and so far it’s shaping up to be my favorite in the series. Also hitting the closest to home in terms of Elizabeth’s chronic pain. If you’re in the mood for historical romance that will make you laugh, and have you sobbing over ugly bonnets, the Wild Wynchesters is the series for you!

Upcoming Releases I’m Excited About
September 24th: The Finest Print, by Erin Langston. Two of my closest friends lovingly bullied me into reading Lanston’s Forever Your Rogue, and now I’m reading everything I can get my hands on.
October 4th: I’m not going to shut up about Steel My Heart. A beautiful second chance, small town, (open door, spicy) romance from Nellie Wilson.
Walking It Off
As you’re reading this, I’m celebrating the first day of school! This will be my first first day of a new school year (I started a few months in last year), and I’m excited to be with the kids right from the first pitch : )
The only problem is that we’re about to have a heatwave that I’m not super excited about. I’m ready for sweatshirts and crockpots full of chilly and fall weather.
