The Leadoff Spot
Game Seven, book two in the Unwritten Rules series, released last week, and I want to say thank you for making this release so special. Whether you celebrated with me in person at the book signing, or on social media with your posts and reviews, thank you so much! It’s a joy to keep bringing you more stories of family and friends and romance in the Unwritten Rules and Wild Pitches universe.
Batting Cleanup
What’s next? For now I’m going to let Game Seven breathe…but, good news readers, book three in the Unwritten Rules series is in the works and I know you’ve all guessed who the leads will be…
Luca Phillips and Charlotte Sullivan.
Book three is the second chance romance you’ve all been waiting for since meeting Luca and Charlotte in Perfect Game. All of your questions regarding Luca and Charlotte and their shared past will be answered. I’m excited to finally share their story with you. The ups and downs. The happiness and the heartbreak. But have no fear, there WILL be a happily ever after for these two. They’ve definitely earned it.
In The Dugout
What I’m watching: I just finished watching M*A*S*H all the way through for the first time. The series finale is, to this day, the most watched series finale in television history. And I can see why. At the end of twelve seasons, you want to know what’s going to happen to these people that you’ve followed through the war. The series finale is a tough watch. But, in some ways, not unexpected.
What I’m listening to: My friend Nellie Wilson (author of the Museology Trilogy and the upcoming Steel My Heart) sent me a Tiny Desk Concert with Sierra Ferrell and I’ve been hooked! Ferrell’s music is a mix of folk and bluegrass and alternative country, which isn’t usually my jam, but Sierra’s music is so gorgeous and unapologetically Appalachian.
What I’m reading: When I’m not working on Luca and Charlotte’s story, I’m reading Erica Ridley’s latest Wild Wynchester, Hot Earl Summer. I’m looking forward to Erin Langston’s newest release, The Finest Print coming in September.
What I’m making: I am in the process of crocheting a weighted blanket made with beaded granny squares. I like to crochet between writing projects; give my brain a break from words, but let my hands keep creating something. I’ve been working on this one for a while after seeing someone on Instagram crocheting a beaded blanket. My skills don’t extend too far past the granny square, so I figured there had to be a way to make beaded squares and as it turns out, there is

Upcoming Releases I’m Excited About
October 2: When Hairy Met Stella, By Lindsey Jesionowski — the second of Lindsey’s paranormal romance spin on her When In West Virginia series. A halloween romp with a paranormal twist that you don’t want to miss.
October 4: Steel My Heart, by Nellie Wilson — a small town second chance romance unlike any small town second chance romance you’ve ever read. Aside from being a beautiful romance, Steel challenges your perceptions of Appalachia and the people who call the region home.
Walking It Off
The new school year starts next week, and I’m so excited to start the year off in the classroom instead of coming in in October like I did last year. Perfect time to restart the newsletter, right? Right before going back to work? But I’m excited to make this newsletter a regular part of my routine. I don’t know how regular just yet, but definitely more often than before.
Thanks for being here. Thanks for reading. I look forward to sharing more with you soon. Keep your eye out for something fun coming in September.
