The Leadoff Spot
There are five instructional days left in the calendar year. We’re going to be having fun all week in Developmental Kindergarten, and in my kindergarten reading intervention groups.
As I’m writing this, I’m just home from performing a Christmas Symphony, that was a challenge but a whole lot of fun to play (and one more thing to check of the Christmas list!), and I’m sitting down to watch the last quarter of the Lions vs. Bills. It’s been a busy week, but a fun week, and there’s an even busier week ahead….but then there’s Christmas break.
I’m going to (try to) take a true break, which means no newsletters and minimal social media until January. You’ll see me around with my usual marketing posts but my plan is to be less active for a while and rest.
With that being said….
Batting Cleanup
….here’s a little writing update:
Designated Hitter (which you can pre-order now) is in its final stages; a few more beta readers are getting their eyes on it, I’m going to give it a read through and do my final re-writes and then we’re in the home stretch.
My WIP is a book in the baseball universe with characters I’m really excited about. Characters you haven’t really met yet, but every time I visit them they feel…magical. I don’t have a date in mind for them, but it’ll be some time in 2025. I’m not rushing it with these two.
There will be a newsletter-ish email at some point, with a Holiday Bonus scene featuring one (or more) of my couples, so I’ll send that out sometime between now and January (it just won’t be an official newsletter).
In The Dugout
What I’m watching: Bridgerton. Let’s not talk about the fact that I’m late to the party, and just be glad that I showed up at all.
What I’m listening to: Lately I’ve just been hitting shuffle on my entire library (who is she?!) and listening to a very interesting mix of artists and genres. At work, the kids are still loving Holst so we’re listening to The Planets.
What I’m reading: Slowly working my way through Unmasking Autism which I shared last week.

Book Recommendations From Friends
One of my best friends is currently reading You’re the Duke that I want, by Lenora Bell, and after their texts about it, I added it to my Kindle. They’ve never steered me wrong, and I can already tell that I’m going to enjoy this one.
